RECIPE: Tahini with or without oil

Used in Hummus

  • PREPARATION 10 minutes
  • COOK TIME 5 minutes or less
  • EQUIPMENT nonstick skillet, coffee grinder, blender, or food processor
  • MAKES 1 cup
  • 1 c sesame seeds
  • 1/4 c olive oil (optional)
  • salt to taste

Toast 1 c SESAME SEEDS in a nonstick skillet for about 5 minutes until slightly colored but not brown. Don’t overbrown. Blend in coffee grinder until smooth. If you want to add 1/4 c OLIVE OIL (optional) and SALT (optional), you can blend in a blender or food processor.
