Basic Granola

You can put just about anything you like into granola–seeds, grains, dried fruit. Experiment with small amounts to find combinations that you like.


GET READY

  • PREPARATION 15 minutes
  • BAKE TIME 25 minutes
  • EQUIPMENT cookie sheet
  • MAKES 2 cups

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 c uncooked oatmeal
  • 1/8 c sesame seeds
  • 1/8 c water
  • 1/4 c brown sugar (optionl)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla (optional)
  • 1/4 c almonds (optional)
  • 1/4 c raisins (optional)
  • other ingredients as desired

MAKE

  1. Mix together: 1 1/2 c OATMEAL, 1/8 c SESAME SEEDS, 1/8 c WATER
  2. Add other ingredients as desired, adding more water as needed to hold the ingredients together; the mixture should be damp, not wet
  3. Spread on cookie sheet lined with baking parchment and bake 2025 minutes at 350 degrees until toasted.

SERVE

Granola can be broken apart into cracker-like pieces or crumbled and served as cereal.
